with an ice cube and a dull needle
we pierced our ears after school
i remember laughing so stupid
now the morning is dark
and it hurts to smile....
when you're homeless
everything just seems to hit so close to home
gazing out at stars
through tiny cutout cardboard pinholes
ritual fills a void inside an irrational soul
that calls my name
down the radiating alleyways of Chernobyl
while above a kettle
of scolding vultures circles
the taste of ice cream cone
unsaved in a church full of cannibals
i remember praying in secret
now the night is long
and drawn out as hell....
